Portfolio

Current: 11/12/11

I had a realisation the other day that at my fundamental core I am an artist. An artist dedicated to making things that evolve humanity. Having identified this core, it is slowly helping me see threads in the array of things I have done over the years. The thread running through all my work has been a question, and a  mission. How can we evolve, nurture and accelerate humanity's potential?

This portfolio page is a curation of all my projects - conventional and unconvential, projects and experiences, personal and professional.

Linkedin doesn't fully in resonance with me anymore. Career is one aspect of me, yes, and I believe that what social media is creating is the condtions to integrate, express and celebrate all aspects of ourselves, rather than seeing them as separate entitles.

(Side note: My Linkedin Profile as of today)

So here it goes.

I am calling this my LinkedOut Profile.

Weird Portfolio

I was thinking about Seth Godin's new book 'We are All Weird"

Weird-book

Suddenly, I had a realisation that weird is a kind of hidden currency - one that I believe we should celebrate more.

Weird gives your character.

Weird means having those odd experiences which shape you and give you a richer life. As Jonathan Harris reminds me, "Our greatest creation is our life story". So, why not make your life story as weird as possible.

Here are a few weird things.

- I have a blue birthmark on my left ear. Yep, blue.

- I am 27 but I look like I am 18.

- I have Irish/English/Japanese genes with an American and Australian passport. Long story.

- I was a guest on a Mongolian TV show once.

- Stayed at a Hare Krishna Temple in New South Wales.

- I almost managed to sneak into Tibet with a fake permit and fake train ticket.

- I had my first spiritual epiphany sitting at Mt Everest Base Camp.

- I somehow managed to raise funds for a crowdsourcing campaign to go to 2009 Non Profit Technology Conference in US.

- I went to a Marist Brother's Catholic boarding school for 5 years. Boarding school was amazing.

- I did a major in organisational communication at university. I have no idea what that is.

- Over my lifespan, I have worked as: telemarketer, online marketing strategist, consultant, waiter, dishwasher, English teacher, cook at a wildlife park, residental advisor, plus many other things. I have been fired from two jobs. Great experience.

- Did a spontenous road trip with some friends once - where we decided to drive 500km to buy a dominos pizza. It was a fun thing to do at the time,

- At themed boat cruise party at university, I decided to come as a Big Mac.
